I studied Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Magdeburg, Germany. My PhD research project deals with emotional processes in Alzheimer's disease patients which I investigate using EEG. Since cognitive skills decline early during the progression of this disease there's a chance to make use of emotional competences and resources in Alzheimer's diesease patients to improve therapy and the quality of life for patients as well as their families and caregivers. The combination of behavioral studies, questionnaires and EEG data will allow us to gain deeper insights in the emotional processing and its neurophysiological underpinnings in Alzheimer's disease patients.
