Eelco Van DuinkerkenPosdoctoral Researcher

02-Dr Eelco Van Duinkerken
I obtained my BSC in Psychology at Utrecht University in Utrecht, the Netherlands, after which I specialized in clinical neuropsychology and received my MSc from the same institution. After this, I did a PhD at the Neuroscience Campus Amsterdam, part of the VU University Medical Center in Amsterdam, investigating the neuronal correlates of cognitive dysfunction in patients with longstanding type 1 diabetes mellitus with and without concomitant microvascular disease. As part of a postdoctoral fellowship, I performed a 4-year follow-up study to determine the progression in cognitive and neural alterations in the participants of my PhD-study, and did a 4-month fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at PUC-Rio, investigating the neuronal correlates of medical decision making in Alzheimer's disease.
